The Dr. V. G. Patel Memorial Award 2026 is inviting applications for contributions to entrepreneurship development through training, education, and mentorship to support aspiring entrepreneurs and strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
The award focuses on traditional or conventional entrepreneurship, new age entrepreneurship, and social entrepreneurship.
Instituted by the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII), Ahmedabad, this award celebrates the enduring legacy of Dr. V. G. Patel, whose vision positioned entrepreneurship as a powerful development strategy. The initiative acknowledges the vital role played by trainers, educators, and mentors in fostering entrepreneurial growth and translating ideas into impactful ventures at both national and international levels.
The award honors individuals who have demonstrated significant contributions in nurturing entrepreneurial ecosystems and supporting aspiring entrepreneurs. It includes a citation along with a cash prize of ₹1,00,000 for each category, recognizing excellence across diverse domains of entrepreneurship.
The selection process is conducted through a comprehensive three-tier evaluation mechanism, which includes initial screening, an in-depth assessment by a high-level Award Committee, and a personal interaction with shortlisted candidates. The final decision rests with the Award Committee and is binding on all applicants. Incomplete applications are not considered, and applicants are encouraged to thoroughly review the application requirements before submission.
The award is open to professionals actively engaged in entrepreneurship training, education, mentoring, or startup promotion, with a minimum of five years of relevant experience. This ensures that nominees bring substantial expertise and a proven track record in advancing entrepreneurial development.
The last date for submitting online applications is May 31, 2026, by 5:30 PM, providing eligible candidates with the opportunity to gain national recognition for their contributions to the field.
