Deadline Date: July 01, 2026
The Sustainability Victoria is inviting eligible organisations to apply for Round 6 of the Victorian Circular Economy Recycling Modernisation Fund to support projects that strengthen resource recovery, improve material quality, and create jobs in the circular economy.
The fund focuses on building the capacity, capability, and resilience of Victoria’s resource recovery sector, helping businesses respond to national regulation of waste exports, increasing the quality of materials for manufacturing, and creating employment opportunities in the circular economy. Projects must achieve at least one primary objective, including improving the quality of recovered target materials to meet market specifications, increasing the use and market demand of recovered materials in remanufacturing, and increasing the recovery and domestic reprocessing of hard-to-recycle plastics, e-waste, tyres for crumb rubber, liquid paperboard, and textiles.
Objectives may include addressing critical infrastructure gaps in Australia’s waste management system, managing materials according to the waste hierarchy and national regulations, supporting economic development opportunities, and reducing the environmental impact of waste going to landfill. The fund aims to diversify investment, attract reprocessing infrastructure, and support technologies and processes that improve recycling and manufacturing solutions.
Funding is available for profit businesses with co-contributions of at least $2 for every $1 funded, requesting between $100,000 and $1,000,000 (ex GST), and for social enterprises, not-for-profit organisations, and local government with co-contributions of at least $1 for every $1 funded, requesting between $50,000 and $1,000,000 (ex GST).
Eligible applicants include Australian businesses, registered social enterprises, Victorian local government organisations, and other not-for-profit organisations ideally registered on the ACNC charity register. Applicants must have a current Australian Business Number and have been operating for at least two years. Individuals, unincorporated entities, and organisations operating for less than two years are not eligible.
