The Take Your Shot program is inviting applications from entrepreneurs aged 17-29 in Windsor‑Essex County and Chatham-Kent to develop their business ideas with funding and professional mentorship.
The program focuses on fostering entrepreneurship by offering participants access to mentorship through professional coaches, mandatory workshops covering topics such as marketing, branding, financial planning, and strategy, as well as a structured final pitch event where participants can present their business ideas to a panel of judges. It also provides opportunities for educational advancement through scholarship applications for those aiming to pursue post-secondary education, with awards of up to $20,000.
Participants in the Take Your Shot program are expected to fully engage in all aspects of the initiative, including attending the final pitch day scheduled for June 11th, 2026, participating in all-day workshop summits, and maintaining regular communication with their assigned coach. These elements are designed to provide guidance, enhance skills, and refine business concepts, ensuring that participants are well-prepared to achieve success in their entrepreneurial journey.
Even individuals who do not yet have a business idea can participate through the scholarship pathway, offering financial support for post-secondary education. The program encourages creativity, commitment, and proactive engagement, providing a platform to transform innovative ideas into viable businesses while building networks and credibility in the entrepreneurial community.
