Deadline Date: June 30, 2026
The Cyber Invest Business Program offers support to small and medium enterprises in the Northern Territory by providing assistance to improve their cybersecurity practices and safeguard their operations from common cyber risks.
The key objectives of the program are to enhance protection and resilience against cybersecurity threats, reduce the risk of compromise to business systems and data, and avoid business disruption and reputational damage that can result from cyberattacks.
The program offers financial support to eligible businesses by enabling them to access professional services from approved service providers to implement a Cyber Invest Plan. This plan is aimed at improving cybersecurity systems and ensuring that businesses are better prepared to handle potential cyber incidents. By focusing on preventive measures and system resilience, the initiative helps businesses safeguard their operations and sensitive data.
Funding is available to reimburse up to 50 percent of the cost of eligible services, with a maximum of $10,000 provided per business. Businesses can apply for funding through a single application or multiple applications within a financial year, as long as the total funding does not exceed the set limit. This flexible approach allows businesses to address their cybersecurity needs progressively.
To be eligible for the program, applicants must be small to medium-sized businesses with fewer than 200 full-time equivalent employees, including owners and directors. They must qualify as a Territory Enterprise, hold a valid Australian Business Number that has been active for at least three months prior to application, and have an annual turnover between $75,000 and $10 million.
Through this initiative, the Northern Territory Government aims to strengthen the overall cybersecurity posture of local businesses, helping them remain competitive and secure in an increasingly digital business environment.
