The Queensland Destination Events Program provides support to event organisers with funding to help with the costs of staging events in Queensland.
The program aims to generate local economic activity and development in the host destination, attract visitors to the region, drive social and community outcomes, and enhance the overall profile of the region.
The Queensland Destination Events Program provides multiple funding streams tailored to different types of events. Destination Signature Events receive funding ranging from $15,000 to $40,000, while Destination Significant Events are supported with amounts between $40,000 and $100,000. Destination Indigenous Events are eligible for funding between $15,000 and $40,000, and Destination Kickstarter Events can receive up to $25,000.
To be eligible for this program, applicants must hold an Australian Business Number (ABN) and be established as a corporation registered with ASIC, an Incorporated Association, or another form of body corporate. They must organise events that take place entirely within Queensland and remain in the same destination, as rotating events across different locations are not permitted.
