The EY Entrepreneur Of The Year™ program celebrates visionary entrepreneurs who drive innovation, transform industries, and create lasting social and economic impact.
The program highlights key themes such as fostering creativity and disruptive innovation, transforming consumer experiences, building new communities, driving positive social change, supporting long-term business growth, encouraging entrepreneurial excellence, and creating a better working world through leadership, determination, and skill.
The EY Entrepreneur Of The Year™ program, launched in Australia in 2001, has grown significantly in prominence and is now widely regarded as one of the country’s leading business awards, aligned with its global recognition. It showcases entrepreneurs who successfully balance passion, character, and business expertise to tackle complex challenges and create meaningful impact. By participating, entrepreneurs gain a platform to celebrate their achievements, inspire future innovators, and connect with a global network of like-minded leaders.
Participants benefit from increased visibility for their business both within Australia and internationally, while also gaining access to new opportunities through engagement with business leaders and financiers. The program enables entrepreneurs to connect with global peers, including past winners, through interactive sessions, while also offering mentoring support and structured growth insights. In addition, it fosters a sense of pride within organizations and provides entry into an exclusive alumni network that supports long-term collaboration and success.
To be eligible, an entrepreneur must be a founder, owner, or manager actively involved in senior management and primarily responsible for the company’s recent performance. Applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents, and their business must have been operational for at least two years at the time of application. Previous participants, including winners and finalists, are eligible to apply again for consideration in the current program cycle.
