Deadline Date: April 15, 2026
The Skyline accelerator program is designed to give Swedish companies a springboard and effective introduction to the New York market.
The program focuses on strengthening Sweden’s competitiveness, disseminating technology that contributes to a sustainable energy system and the green transition, providing a springboard and effective introduction to the New York market, offering strategic advice and market analysis, delivering tailored business development support, matching with potential customers, partners, pilot projects, and investors, helping companies overcome market barriers and navigate the energy landscape in New York, connecting participants to networks within the American energy and real estate industry, increasing visibility in high-profile forums and events such as Climate Week NYC, addressing time-sensitive market needs driven by Local Law 97 requiring large buildings to significantly reduce carbon dioxide emissions, and facilitating strategic connections with NYSERDA and NYCEDC.
The Swedish Energy Agency works to promote technology and solutions that advance a sustainable energy system and accelerate the green transition. Through Skyline, Swedish companies are given structured support to establish a presence in the New York market.
Running from June to November in a hybrid format, the program combines digital preparatory activities with two high-intensity delegation trips to New York. Participants receive strategic advice, in-depth market analysis, and tailored business development support to strengthen their market entry strategies.
In collaboration with the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce in New York and the energy strategy company Build Edison, the program supports companies in overcoming barriers and navigating the complex energy landscape. Participants gain access to a strong network within the American energy and real estate sectors and receive opportunities for exposure at major events, including Climate Week NYC, where global leaders and companies gather.
Skyline responds to market needs shaped by Local Law 97, which requires large office and commercial properties, industrial facilities, and large apartment buildings to significantly reduce carbon dioxide emissions. The program also connects participants with key local counterparts, including the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority and the New York City Economic Development Corporation, the city’s public utility and largest real estate owner managing and developing 60 million square meters of property.
The program is open to small and medium-sized Swedish companies with market-proven products, services, or solutions that have strong energy relevance in sustainable buildings, cities, or urban energy systems. Applicants must have sufficient human and financial resources to implement the program and must be able to attend the kick-off in Stockholm on June 2–3 and the delegation trips to New York on September 21–23 and November 3–5.
