Deadline Date: May 30, 2026
The Jawahar RKVY Raftaar Agribusiness Incubator (JAWAHAR-R-ABI) is launching a comprehensive program to support ideation-stage entrepreneurs and startups with innovative ideas or uncommercialized technologies from SAUs, ICAR, CSIR, or farmers in agriculture and allied sectors.
The program focuses on IoT and AI in Agriculture, Farm Retailing, Organic Farming, Agri Waste to Wealth, Post-Harvest Management, Processing and Value Addition, Agriculture Biotechnology, and Agriculture Engineering & Farm Mechanization, aiming to provide incubation, mentorship, infrastructure support, research and development, market access, and a sustainability-focused approach.
JAWAHAR-R-ABI provides a structured environment for agripreneurs to transform their ideas into viable agribusiness ventures. The incubation process begins with an Agripreneurship Orientation Program for ideation-stage participants, offering two months of training and hands-on internships with similar startups. During this period, participants gain on-campus mentoring from industry experts, classroom sessions on intellectual property management and contracts, design thinking workshops, product design and market assessment, and assistance in business plan preparation. Eligible participants should propose innovative ideas to improve efficiency in agriculture, pursue their entrepreneurial aspirations full-time, have an initial business plan or proposal, and not be incubated at any other facility.
Following the orientation, selected participants enter the Assessment Stage (PRERNA), where up to 30 agripreneurs can receive a Pre-Seed Stage Grant-in-Aid of Rs. 5 lakhs to develop prototypes, services, or platforms and launch their business ideas. This funding is designed to reduce risk and provide necessary incubation support, helping entrepreneurs bring their innovations to market while being guided by experts.
The final stage, Expansion Stage (SAAKAR), offers seed-stage funding of up to Rs. 25 lakhs to startups with a minimum viable product (MVP) based on innovative solutions, processes, products, services, or business models in agriculture and allied sectors. Eligible startups must be registered legal entities in India, have completed at least two months of residency at JAWAHAR-R-ABI, and demonstrate consistent performance. This stage provides access to focused mentor groups, dedicated scientists and research professionals, lab and infrastructure support, market linkages, investor interactions, and opportunities to showcase innovations, helping startups scale operations and attract further investments.
JAWAHAR-R-ABI stands as a platform where innovation meets agriculture, creating a community of resilient, forward-thinking agripreneurs committed to sustainable and efficient agricultural practices.
