The Clean Cities Spain ClimAccelerator is inviting applications to strengthen entrepreneurial start-ups across the European Union by supporting innovative solutions that tackle climate change challenges in cities.
Focus areas, include boosting start-ups through access to training activities and expert mentorship, connecting with ecosystems of investors, corporations, and public institutions across Spain and Europe, integrating into the Climate KIC ecosystem, utilizing Climate KIC’s financial tool Climate SAFE, participating in an introductory session for the Impact Hypothesis tool, and gaining visibility, marketing, and communication support.
This initiative is tailored to meet the needs of competitive start-ups, offering in-kind services such as access to a global network of investors, corporations, and public institutions, mentorship and customizable opportunities with a wide range of experts, training sessions with international speakers specialized in business and sustainability, integration into the EIT Climate-KIC ecosystem and community, participation in international entrepreneurship events, tools for assessing the environmental impact of technologies developed by start-ups, and individualized visibility, marketing, and communication actions.
Eligibility is open to start-ups in the pre-commercial or early commercial stage with founders maintaining control of the company, meaning they hold the majority of share capital and voting rights. Companies must be incorporated or in the process of incorporation, not more than five years old, based in the European Union, and have a dedicated team of at least two people. Start-ups must offer scalable solutions with potential high climate impact or significant climate adaptation. Participation does not require relocating the company to a specific country.
