The Government of the Republic of Uganda received financing from the World Bank to implement the Generating Growth Opportunities and Productivity for Women Enterprises (GROW) Project, which is being implemented by the Ministry of Gender, Labour, and Social Development (MGLSD) and Private Sector Foundation Uganda (PSFU).
The purpose of the Project is to increase access to entrepreneurial services that will enable female entrepreneurs to grow their businesses in targeted locations, including host and refugee districts. A curriculum for essential skills for women entrepreneurs was developed. The primary objective of this training is to address the unique challenges faced by women entrepreneurs, particularly essential business skills
Objectives
- The training program seeks to empower women to transition their businesses from micro to small, and from small to medium scale and thereby increasing employment and economic growth. The training will cover key areas such as financial literacy, ICT and business growth, business expansion and sustainability strategies, and effective customer communication, among other important topics.
Funding Information
- The training is fully funded under the GROW Project.
Eligibility Criteria
- This opportunity is for:
- Women entrepreneurs
- Male business partners in enterprises where women hold atleast 51% ownership.
- Employees of women-owned enterprises
- Refugee women entrepreneurs
- This program targets micro and small businesses with annual revenue ranging from 5-100 million.
