The Labour Fund (Tamkeen) announced that registration is now open for the latest edition of its Young Entrepreneur Program (Mashroo3i 2.0), which aims to empower ambitious young Bahrainis by providing them with an opportunity to learn from experts in the field and benefit from other entrepreneurial experiences.
This program is designed for passion-driven young entrepreneurs with a viable business idea. It enables young Bahrainis with high potential to explore creative concepts and turn them into sustainable businesses.
Young entrepreneurs are the drivers of change in the Kingdom and so they will guide your entrepreneurial ventures by offering advisory, and financial support.
Young Entrepreneur (Mashroo3i 2.0) will provide individuals with a business idea, idea stage and early-stage start-ups with an intensive advisory program that will empower them to bring creative business concepts to reality through:
- Learning and consistently mastering entrepreneurial skills and capabilities
- The provision of tools to develop innovative concepts into a successful business model and company
Items covered in the program:
- The advisory program finalists will be eligible for product development support against pre-set milestones which covers the following items in line with the outcome of the advisory:
- Machinery and equipment
- Marketing and branding
- Technology
- Product design and development.
What Tamkeen offers
- 100% subsidy for the Young Entrepreneur (Mashroo3i 2.0) advisory program for ideation, concept development and early-stage startup mentorship.
- For program finalists, items are covered 100% and paid to vendors, 70% is paid initially against approved items in line with the outcomes of the advisory, and an incentive grant of 30% is paid upon achieving set milestones. All support is up to the relevant cap approved by Tamkeen for the business.
Who is eligible?
The program will accept applications from both teams and individuals who have an idea or are idea stage startups or early-stage startups. You are eligible for this program if you:
- Are a Bahraini national aged 18 to 35 years
- Are a first-time entrepreneur with no active CR or an entrepreneur with a virtual CR or a CR registered for less than one year
- You must be able to commit to the advisory program for a total of 6 weeks
- Present high-level information of business idea
- Do not have any active violation or be blacklisted by Tamkeen.
