Start-Up Grant to support Young Entrepreneurs in United Kingdom

Deadline: Ongoing

The SWEF Enterprise Fund Start-Up Grant is inviting applications to support young entrepreneurs in Cheshire and Warrington who are launching or growing a new business.

The funding focuses on supporting business costs that applicants would otherwise be unable to afford, helping businesses make a transformational change, supporting businesses to take a significant step forward in their development.

The SWEF Enterprise Fund awards grants of up to £500 to eligible young people who are starting a new business. The grant is intended to help cover business costs that can support the development of the business.

Applicants are not required to submit a business plan. Instead, they are asked to complete the application form as fully as possible.

A reference is required to support each application. The referee must not be a spouse, parent or guardian and should be someone familiar with the applicant’s business and skills, such as a tutor, previous employer, support worker or mentor.

Applicants must be between 18 and 30 years of age and currently live in the Cheshire or Warrington areas. They must be facing financial challenges that are preventing them from developing their business.

The business must be new and have been trading for less than two years. Applicants must either be the majority shareholder of the business or ensure that all shareholders are between 18 and 30 years of age. They must also have a business bank account or be in the process of setting one up, as grants are only paid into business bank accounts.
