Apply for “GreenTech: From Labs to Lives” Seminar

Deadline: 12 May 2024

Fulbright University Vietnam is pleased to announce the ‘GreenTech: From Labs to Lives’ Technology and Innovation Seminar that targets young leaders who want to develop leadership competencies that bring green technologies to their communities through entrepreneurship and public policy.

The planet faces environmental challenges, but with them comes a surge of innovation. This seminar, “GreenTech: From Labs to Lives”, dives deep into the solutions that came from research labs. You will explore how cutting-edge GreenTech is moving from the drawing board to real-world applications, examine how entrepreneurs are building a thriving green economy, and unpack the role of government policies in supporting a sustainable future. Finally, you will see GreenTech in action, exploring how technology can empower you to make greener choices in your daily lives.

They will recruit 30 YSEALI fellows, who are young professionals between the ages of 25-40, highly qualified and motivated, from all 10 ASEAN member states and Timor-Leste. Ideally, participants are budding managers, i.e. have experience or are about to manage and supervise a middle management team, multiple teams or entire organizations and communities. Participants are required to commit at least 8 online hours for pre-seminar tasks (attending lecture and reading materials) from June 18 – 20, 2024, and at least 38 hours to in-person seminar activities in Vietnam from June 24-28, 2024. Therefore, participants are required to commit full-time to the seminar period for successful completion and obtaining the certificate.

Topics

  • Topic 1 – Harnessing GreenTech Innovation: From Labs to Launchpads
    • Innovation is the lifeblood of GreenTech. In their opening session, “Harnessing GreenTech Innovation: From Labs to Launchpads,” you will explore how groundbreaking ideas are being transformed from promising experiments into real-world solutions. You will delve into the exciting journey GreenTech takes, from initial concepts to practical applications that can make a significant impact on the planet’s health.
  • Topic 2 – Building the Green Economy: Entrepreneurship for a Sustainable Future
    • As you explore the exciting potential of GreenTech, a crucial question emerges: how can you translate innovation into a thriving green economy? This topic delves into the world of green entrepreneurs. You will explore how these innovators are harnessing GreenTech to create new businesses, generate jobs, and pave the way for a more sustainable future.
  • Topic 3 – The Role of Public Policy in Greening the Future
    • While innovation and entrepreneurship drive the creation of GreenTech solutions, effective policy is essential to pave the way for a sustainable future. In this session, will explore how government policies can incentivize GreenTech adoption, encourage responsible resource management, and create a framework for a thriving green economy.
  • Topic 4 – Greening Our Lives: Technology and Sustainability in Action
    • From smart thermostats to electric vehicles, GreenTech is transforming how they live. In this session, you will explore how everyday technologies can empower you to make a positive impact on the environment. You will delve into practical applications of GreenTech and discover how even small changes in your daily routines can contribute to a more sustainable future. They will also examine the journey of entrepreneurs who are blazing the path in bringing GreenTech to people’s lives.
