Northwestern Mutual Accelerator Powered by gener8tor is a 12-week program starting April 21st, 2026 in the United States, investing $100,000 into high-growth startups in fintech, insuretech, digital health, and data analytics, aimed at supporting historically underserved entrepreneurs through mentorship, networking, and strategic guidance.

Northwestern Mutual and gener8tor are committed to supporting entrepreneurs who have been historically underserved in accessing capital by bridging the gaps in fundraising and strategic mentorship, fostering an innovative landscape of growth startups.
The Northwestern Mutual Accelerator invests in up to ten companies per year, divided into two cohorts of five startups each. Selected startups receive a $100,000 investment either directly into the current funding round or as an uncapped convertible bridge note if they are not currently raising funds.
Each participating startup benefits from a concierge experience over the 12-week program. This includes weekly cohort programming on topics such as understanding market size, choosing a revenue model, and pitching to investors. Individualized mentorship is provided through bi-weekly one-on-one meetings with the gener8tor team and paired mentors from Northwestern Mutual. In addition, participants gain access to over 100 industry experts, serial entrepreneurs, and investors for strategic guidance.
Startups also receive access to a co-working space designed to advance innovation and experimentation, as well as over $1 million in deals and perks from technology and business service providers like IBM Cloud, Rackspace, Amazon, PayPal, Zendesk, and Microsoft. Networking opportunities include mentor swarms, investor swarms, and cohort meals to build strong relationships with other founders.
The program concludes with a Premiere Night reception, where startups pitch to an audience of entrepreneurs, mentors, investors, and community members. Participants are also expected to attend program-related conferences and events. Startups from across the globe may apply, but at least one founder must be based in the United States.
