Apply for Bletchley and Fenny Stratford Grant Scheme (UK)

The Milton Keynes City Council has launched a new grant scheme for businesses in Bletchley and Fenny Stratford, which will be run by South Midlands Growth Hub.

This grant funding programme will provide support to eligible local businesses and assist potential entrepreneurs to be enterprise ready.

Types of Grant

  • Startup Grant
    • The Startup Grant aims to support entrepreneurs in need of assistance to be business ready, to develop and grow an existing business through additional business support eg. marketing. The Startup Grant is open to new businesses under 3 years old, operating or registered in Bletchley and Fenny Stratford. The Startup Grant may be used for marketing, branding, training, business planning, financial management, sustainability, and IT equipment.
  • Existing Business Grant
    • The Existing Business Grant aims to support existing businesses who demonstrate a strategic ambition to grow. This growth can be through the introduction of a new product or service, or the scaling of existing products and services. The Existing Business Grant is available to existing businesses trading over 3 years operating or registered in Bletchley and Fenny Stratford. The Existing Business Grant may be used for the purchase of new equipment, consultancy, training, rebranding, software development, repairs and maintenance of premises.

Funding Information

  • Startup Grant
    • You can apply for grant funding of up to £2,500.
    • The minimum grant is £500 (excluding VAT).
    • The grant excludes VAT so the minimum
    • Project spend would need to be £500 excluding VAT.
    • You can use the grant funding to pay for several eligible items of spend needed to support your business to develop and grow and will be accessed and agreed by the Investment Panel.
  • Existing Business Grant
    • You can apply for a grant of up to £5,000.
    • The minimum grant is £1,000 (excluding VAT).
    • The grant excludes VAT so the minimum
    • Project spend would need to be £1,000 excluding VAT.
    • You can use the grant funding to pay for several eligible items of spend needed to support your business to develop and grow and will be accessed and agreed by the Investment Panel.

Eligibility Criteria

  • You must provide evidence that the business has been registered with either Companies House, or HMRC. This would be either a Companies House registration number or a letter from HMRC with your Unique Tax Reference (UTR) number and your date of registration.
  • They can only approve one grant per business.
  • Startup Grant
    • The business must be registered in Bletchley or Fenny Stratford; or operating in Bletchley and Fenny Stratford. If your registered address is not Bletchley or Fenny Stratford you will need to provide evidence that you are operating in the area by way of a lease/licence.
    • The start-up grant is available to any business at the pre start and early start stages (up to 3 years of trading). You will be required to provide a copy of your company’s most recent filed accounts, or a financial forecast and business plan.
    • There is a limit of one grant application per business
  • Existing Business Grant
    • The Existing Business Grant is available to any business with evidence of trading over 3 years, registered or operating in the Bletchley and Fenny Stratford area.
    • You must provide registration documents which demonstrate your business is more than 3 years old and has a trading record of at least three years. You will be required to provide a copy of your company’s most recent filed accounts (and draft if beyond mid-year).
