InovIA: Vouchers for Innovation Program (Portugal)

InoVIA is an innovation voucher program that allows agile access to supercomputers such as Deucalion and MareNostrum 5.

The adoption of supercomputing and artificial intelligence can be a decisive factor in the success of innovative projects. However, many companies face barriers to accessing these technologies, whether due to a lack of technical knowledge or difficulties in financing computing infrastructures.

The InoVIA program was created to eliminate these barriers and provide free and easy access to advanced computing resources, making it possible for startups and SMEs to have an environment for experimenting and testing high-performance solutions, without the initial costs normally associated with investing in this technology.

Aims

• The aim of this program is to ensure that companies are able to fully exploit the potential of these resources, optimizing processes, developing new products and improving competitiveness on the market.

Funding Information

• Each initial voucher includes:
  • 50,000 CPU core.hours | 1,000 GPU.hours | 1 TB of storage
  • Duration: 6 months
    • Possibility of reinforcing resources upon evaluation.

Eligibility Criteria

• Startups and national SMEs
• Public and private entities in Portugal.
• Projects focused on innovation (in the pre-commercial phase, exclusively for non-profit purposes)

Selection Criteria

• Valid applications will be accepted on afirst-come, first-served basis.
• Priority for startups and SMEs (minimum 50% of vouchers).
• Availability of the candidate to start the project within 3 months of approval.

Application Process

• Registration – Fill in the online form (PT/EN).
• Evaluation – Administrative and technical validation in 5 working days.
• Approval – Issuance of the voucher and agreement by signing the terms of acceptance.
• Access – Creating an account on Deucalion or MareNostrum 5.
