The PLAI Call for Startups 2026 is an initiative designed to support high-impact, scalable artificial intelligence startups that aim to transform and advance Italy’s innovation landscape.
The focus areas include artificial intelligence-driven innovation, education technology, corporate training, digital learning, retail optimization, customer experience enhancement, demand forecasting, logistics efficiency, media and advertising strategy, content distribution, publishing workflows, reader engagement, and corporate functions such as planning, administration, procurement, and legal operations.
The programme is designed to accelerate the growth of startups developing AI-driven solutions that enhance processes and support product innovation across multiple business sectors. It seeks to identify and support groundbreaking technologies that can transform how organizations operate and deliver value.
Selected startups can receive up to 300,000 euros in equity investment to support their growth and scaling activities. In addition, up to 100,000 euros in collaboration opportunities are available through the Mondadori Group, alongside access to a pool of corporate experts who provide guidance throughout the startup journey.
The initiative focuses on supporting startups that develop innovative AI solutions across key sectors such as education, retail, media, advertising, publishing, and corporate operations. These areas include improving learning systems, enhancing customer experiences, optimizing business processes, and modernizing content creation and distribution.
The programme is structured to provide both financial support and strategic corporate engagement, ensuring startups receive investment, mentorship, and operational expertise to strengthen their market position and scalability.
