The AIC IIT Delhi-Honda Road Safety & Mobility Innovation Program, supported by Honda India, is a 2-year incubation initiative designed to empower deep-tech startups and innovators developing solutions for enhanced road safety across the country.
The focus areas of the opportunity are collision prevention, helmet compliance, rider behaviour and night time visibility through AI, IoT, and sensor-driven technologies, collision prevention and rider assistance, helmet compliance and smart safety gear, rider behaviour and speed management, visibility and night-time safety, seed grants and funding opportunities, long-term impact and sustainability, market access and partnerships, bootcamps and workshop, exclusive change makers community, mentorship from experts, and eligibility includes early stage startups, students team and developers, researchers and innovators.
The programme aims to nurture startups building breakthrough technological solutions to address India’s most pressing road safety challenges. It follows a structured process beginning with nationwide outreach and startup selection, followed by bootcamps, mentoring and final incubation of top innovators. Through continuous support from IIT Delhi professors, Honda experts and industry mentors, the programme ensures a strong foundation for innovators to bring their solutions to real-world application.
Selected startups receive up to ₹10 lakhs in grants along with lab support, IP and legal assistance and access to investors. The initiative combines Honda’s long-standing commitment to road safety with the innovation ecosystem of IIT Delhi to drive measurable impact on Indian roads and build technology-led social transformation.
The offerings extend beyond funding to include market access, partnerships and a strong network of changemakers to help startups achieve long-term sustainability. The programme is open to early-stage startups, developer groups, student teams, as well as independent researchers and innovators who are building relevant solutions in the defined thematic areas.
