Deadline Date: July 28, 2026
The Clean Transport Accelerator Maritime is a six-month UK programme designed to help SMEs develop innovative solutions for maritime decarbonisation and cleaner operations.
The focus areas of this programme include maritime decarbonisation, future fuels, electrification, clean energy systems, fleet optimisation, emissions tracking, predictive maintenance, circular manufacturing, and digital solutions for maritime operations.
This initiative is delivered by Connected Places Catapult in collaboration with industry partners including Serco, Port of Tyne, Portsmouth International Port, the National Shipbuilding Office, and Maersk. It aims to accelerate the development and adoption of clean transport solutions in the maritime sector.
The programme provides tailored commercial support to selected SMEs based on business needs, including market analysis, value proposition development, pricing strategy, financial forecasting, and communications support. It is designed to help companies strengthen and scale their solutions.
Up to six SMEs working at technology readiness levels 5 to 8 will be selected. Participants may apply for up to £30,000 in funding to conduct a four-month trial of their solution with programme partners, gaining access to industry expertise, facilities, and testing environments.
The programme focuses on four main challenge areas: improving fleet operations and emissions insights, enabling scope 3 emissions tracking and reporting, optimising the use of excess clean energy in ports, and supporting decarbonisation in shipyard manufacturing processes.
Eligible applicants must be UK-registered micro, small, or medium-sized enterprises with solutions at TRL 5–8. Applicants must address at least one of the defined challenges and be willing to engage in programme activities and occasional in-person sessions.
