Deadline Date: August 30, 2026
The Digitalisation of the Water Sector is now accepting applications to support digital solutions for improving water management, sanitation, and resource efficiency.
The focus areas include preventing and detecting non-revenue water losses, improving wastewater treatment performance, raising awareness, locating leakages, repairing sanitation and distribution infrastructure, and enhancing predictive maintenance and operational efficiency in water systems.
The initiative responds to increasing global challenges such as population growth, climate change, and strained infrastructure, which are impacting water availability, quality, and sanitation. It encourages the adoption of innovative and scalable solutions to strengthen water sustainability and resilience across societies while protecting the environment.
The call supports the development and demonstration of pre-operational services that use advanced technologies to improve water quality, optimize resource management, reduce water losses, and enhance service delivery for water and sanitation operators. These solutions are expected to enable better monitoring, enforcement, and long-term planning in the water sector.
Applicants are expected to demonstrate strong customer engagement, clear market potential, technical feasibility, and added value through the use of space data or space-based technologies. The initiative looks for solutions with a viable commercial pathway and practical implementation potential.
Selected participants will receive zero-equity funding along with technical and commercial guidance, access to a partner network, and ESA brand credibility.
