The key focus areas of the award include promoting innovation in hydrogen technologies and applications, recognizing outstanding hydrogen technology projects globally, highlighting winning initiatives, supporting collaboration between international energy initiatives, showcasing hydrogen solutions from supply to demand, and encouraging participation from public and private energy companies, startups, universities, research institutions, and project teams across the hydrogen sector.
The Hydrogen TCP Awards of Excellence is an annual recognition programme organized as a collaborative effort between the IEA Hydrogen TCP and the Clean Energy Ministerial Hydrogen Initiative. The award aims to highlight innovative hydrogen projects from around the world and provide a global platform to showcase successful and impactful solutions.
The award is presented each year during the Clean Energy Ministerial Meeting. The 2026 edition focuses on the theme “From Supply to Demand: Driving Hydrogen Solutions,” and the award will be presented at the 17th Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM17) Meeting.
The programme is open to a wide range of applicants, including private or public entities, individual applicants, teams, or groups of organizations. The initiative encourages participation from public and private energy companies, startups, universities, and research institutions working in hydrogen-related fields.
Applicants may submit projects individually or as part of a team, although only one submission per project is permitted. The award aims to recognize excellence in hydrogen innovation while encouraging global collaboration and advancement in clean energy technologies.
