The National Research Council of Canada is seeking grant applications to support Canadian SMEs and Eureka member country organizations in developing collaborative R&D projects that advance innovative civilian technologies and solutions.
This call for proposals targets civilian technological and market areas with high potential for commercialization, offering funding of up to 500,000 CAD per Canadian SME over a period of 12 to 36 months.
Eligible applicants must be incorporated, profit-oriented SMEs in Canada with 500 or fewer full-time employees, operational for at least 12 months prior to the registration deadline, and with at least five full-time employees on payroll in Canada. Applicants must pursue growth through the development and commercialization of innovative, technology-driven products, services, or processes, possess differentiated and protectable technology with global market potential, and demonstrate the financial and operational capacity to undertake international multi-year R&D collaborations while maintaining regular operations. Preference may be given to SMEs with at least 15 full-time employees, experience in international commercialization, and annual sales revenue exceeding 500,000 CAD.
Applicants are expected to form consortia with Eureka member country partners and develop projects that align with the civilian market, focusing on innovation, technology development, and commercialization readiness. This program emphasizes global growth, collaborative partnerships, and the translation of research into market-ready solutions.
