Deadline Date: April 12, 2026
Global Affairs Canada, in collaboration with national innovation bodies, is inviting applications for a specialized delegation aimed at fostering international partnerships in the quantum technology sector.
The delegation focuses on advancing collaboration in quantum computers and software, quantum communications, quantum sensors, and quantum materials, while supporting co-innovation through validation of Canadian technologies for the South Korean market, adaptation of these technologies to local needs, and joint development of new products and services by combining Canadian and South Korean expertise.
This initiative is designed to bring together Canadian small and medium-sized enterprises with South Korean organizations to accelerate innovation and commercialization in quantum technologies. By participating, Canadian companies gain access to a structured platform that enables meaningful engagement with key players in South Korea’s quantum ecosystem, including businesses, research institutions, and investors.
Eligible participants are Canadian SMEs that are profit-oriented, have prior experience in commercializing technologies, and demonstrate both the capacity and intent to collaborate internationally. Companies are expected to show readiness for multi-year co-innovation projects and a commitment to expanding into the South Korean market.
The program includes curated one-on-one business-to-business meetings with Korean companies, research centres, venture capital firms, and other innovation stakeholders. These interactions are designed to facilitate strategic partnerships and explore opportunities for joint development and market entry.
Participants will also benefit from networking sessions with a wide range of stakeholders in the Korean quantum landscape, offering exposure to technology developers, adopters, and investors. A pre-departure briefing will provide insights into the Korean quantum ecosystem, program expectations, and essential business practices in Korea.
In addition, the delegation includes site visits to leading Korean companies and research institutions working in quantum technologies, allowing participants to gain firsthand knowledge of the local innovation environment. The program also offers participation in Quantum Korea, a major annual event dedicated to promoting quantum technologies and accelerating their application across industries.
