SustainGov invites collaborative preparatory projects aimed at transforming how the public sector operates to improve health, well-being, and sustainability within planetary boundaries.
The initiative focuses on four key areas: complex care needs, inclusive society, food security, and a renewed relationship between citizens and the public sector.
SustainGov, as part of the broader Impact Innovation initiative, supports preparatory projects that bring together multiple stakeholders to explore new and improved ways of working within the public sector. These projects are intended to strengthen collaboration, build shared understanding of challenges, and deepen knowledge about the conditions necessary for effective public sector transformation. The goal is to enable a more proactive and systems-oriented approach that benefits society as a whole.
The funding is specifically designed for projects that mobilize actors across sectors and foster consensus around identified problems. By encouraging cooperation between public authorities, civil society, academia, and businesses, the initiative aims to create a foundation for meaningful and actionable change. Each project is expected to result in a clear and concrete proposal for the next step toward reform.
Eligibility requires that the project group include at least two organizations from relevant sectors, with the coordinating entity being a municipality, an association of municipalities, a regional authority, or a state public authority. This ensures that the leadership and direction of the project remain grounded within the public sector.
Projects can receive funding of up to SEK 500,000, with support covering up to 100 percent of eligible costs. The duration of each project is limited to a maximum of six months, emphasizing the preparatory and exploratory nature of the initiative.
