Deadline Date: Ongoing
Daraja Impact is currently seeking applications from Tanzanian Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) led by women and youth to receive capital, technical assistance, and business support aimed at fostering sustainable growth and economic empowerment.
The project’s key focus areas include providing capital through flexible, impact-linked financial instruments to catalyze private sector funding, offering business support services such as investment readiness and impact management training, delivering tailored post-investment technical assistance, and ensuring the sustained growth and success of investees.
Daraja Impact offers a range of services to help entrepreneurs thrive. These include trainings on the fundamentals of running a business, coaching and mentorship from experienced business leaders, and specialized services for entrepreneurs, managers, and employees. Businesses also gain access to investment readiness and impact measurement support, along with capital through flexible, impact-linked financial instruments. After investment, targeted technical assistance ensures that businesses can implement growth strategies effectively and maintain long-term sustainability.
The project is implemented by Small Enterprise Assistance Funds (SEAF) in partnership with AlphaMundi Foundation (AMF) and is funded by the Swiss Confederation through the Embassy of Switzerland in Tanzania. Daraja Impact emphasizes the importance of gender equity, innovation, and scalability in business operations, encouraging enterprises to integrate impact management principles and participate in capacity-building initiatives. Eligible SMEs are required to have over two years of business operations, at least two years of audited financials, formal registration with BRELA, a business license, and a Tax Identification Number (TIN).
Through this comprehensive approach, Daraja Impact seeks to empower women and youth-led SMEs in Tanzania, supporting them to grow sustainably while fostering economic inclusion and creating positive social impact.
