The Starter Company Plus program is inviting applications to support enterprising individuals over 18 who want to start, grow, or buy a small business by providing hands-on business coaching, training, and mentoring from local business leaders.
The program focuses on assisting with the development of a business plan, offering opportunities to participate in free training, coaching, mentoring, and networking, providing ongoing support from a qualified business advisor, and granting the opportunity to apply for a financial award of up to $5,000 upon successful completion of the program.
Eligible applicants must be at least 18 years old, proposing a new business, expanding an existing business, or purchasing a business in Ontario, not be a franchise, not attending or returning to school, and be a resident of Ontario with Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status. Participants must not be enrolled in other provincial employment or self-employment programs, not have participated in Starter Company Plus before, not be a Town of Orangeville employee, and must be prepared to commit a minimum of 35 hours per week to running the business while attending all required training and mentorship sessions.
The program consists of 10 bi-weekly sessions designed to provide practical guidance, mentorship, and networking opportunities to help participants turn their business ideas into reality. Entrepreneurs benefit from structured support that combines professional advice with hands-on coaching to navigate the challenges of starting or growing a business.
Starter Company Plus offers a structured pathway for aspiring business owners to develop essential skills, create actionable business plans, and gain access to mentorship and financial resources to make their entrepreneurial goals achievable.
