Deadline Date: May 08, 2026
The Summer Company program is now open for applications, offering young student entrepreneurs the chance to launch and operate a small business during the summer.
The program focuses on providing business fundamentals training, group and one-to-one mentorship sessions with trained business professionals, and an opportunity for a grant of up to $3,000 to support the launch of a small business.
Eligible applicants must be students aged 15 to 29 as of April 30, 2026, starting a new business, attending school and returning in the fall through any formal or alternative learning pathway, residing in Ontario, and holding Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status. Applicants must not be working another job or attending school for more than 12 hours per week during the program and must meet the Canada Revenue Agency’s definition of being self-employed. A parent or guardian must sign the application for applicants under 18.
The program offers grants in two installments: a first payment of up to $1,500 for start-up costs and a second payment of up to $1,500 upon successful completion of the program. This structure allows participants to access funding while gaining practical experience in business management, mentorship support, and hands-on training to develop their entrepreneurial skills.
Young entrepreneurs are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to grow their ideas, build a small business from the ground up, and gain real-world experience in managing and operating a business over the summer months.
