Deadline Date: April 29, 2026
The Innovate UK is now acceptin grant applications to strengthen secure and resilient software supply chains in the UK through the adoption of the Software Security Code of Practice.
The competition focuses on increasing adoption, awareness, and implementation of the SSCoP, driving the commercial growth of cyber resilient technology supply chains in the UK, and improving the baseline level of cyber resilience of UK software supply chains.
Innovate UK, part of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), will invest up to £5 million in Collaborative Research & Development projects, subject to receiving a sufficient number of high-quality applications. Cybersecurity has been identified as a frontier technology in the UK’s Industrial Strategy 2025, and the Cyber Growth Action Plan 2025 highlights how cyber resilient technologies can enable economic growth.
Software underpins all digital technologies, driving productivity and growth across industries. However, many sectors are undergoing digital transformation without embedding adequate cyber security measures, leaving them vulnerable to cyber-crime, which costs the UK economy £14.7 billion each year.
The Software Security Code of Practice is part of a series of government-developed cyber security codes designed to improve the overall cyber resilience of the UK. Eligible projects must request total grant funding between £250,000 and £750,000 and must be carried out in the UK, with the intention to exploit the results domestically.
Projects must start on the first of the month and cannot begin until the Grant Offer Letter has been approved by Innovate UK. Delays in project setup may require adjustments to the start date.
