The BLUNEW Project is now accepting applications to support innovators, entrepreneurs, researchers, and students in developing solutions for the blue economy.
The program focuses on freshwater management and water innovations, maritime decarbonisation and sustainable ports, blue biotechnology, aquaculture and seaweed innovation, marine ecosystem preservation, and sustainable marine and coastal solutions.
Through the BLUNEW Accelerator, 15 teams will be selected to join an intensive six-week online programme designed to transform innovative ideas into viable and scalable solutions. Eligible participants include early-stage startups, entrepreneurs, student or university teams, researchers developing real-world solutions, and professionals exploring business opportunities within the blue economy.
Winning teams will receive a structured innovation support programme featuring over 20 hours of expert-led online training, mentoring from innovation and sustainability experts, access to a toolkit of practical resources for sustainable business development, networking with researchers, innovation hubs, and stakeholders across the ADRION region, one-to-one mentoring and pitch preparation, and the opportunity to present their solution at the final Demo Day.
The online training, conducted in English, will cover topics including Design Thinking for Blue Innovation, Freshwater Management Tools, Climate-Resilient and Clean Tech Solutions, Business Modeling and Investor Pitching, Go-to-Market Strategies, Partnerships and Public–Private Collaboration, Financing Mechanisms for Blue Innovation, and Impact, Sustainability, and Inclusive Innovation.
