Deadline Date: June 16, 2026
The European Commission is seeking grant applications to support the integration of Ukrainian research infrastructures with Europe’s networks to enhance scientific collaboration and joint research projects.
The focus of this initiative includes building strong and sustainable collaboration frameworks between Ukrainian and European research infrastructures, designing early phase implementation plans for the reconstruction and upgrade of Ukrainian research infrastructures aligned with the ERA Policy Agenda, providing remote access and fellowships for Ukrainian researchers and innovators to participate in European projects, and establishing effective systems for monitoring and evaluating the progress and impact of integration efforts.
The funding available for this initiative is approximately €8,000,000.00 to support the integration, collaboration, and development of Ukrainian research infrastructures within the European Research Area.
Proposals should leverage Europe’s research infrastructure landscape to facilitate Ukraine’s integration into the European Research Area, building on previous assessments of Ukrainian research infrastructures and the EURIZON project model. They should support the design of early phase implementation plans for reconstruction and reorientation of Ukraine’s research infrastructure capacity, foster collaboration and networking with Ukrainian research institutions through remote fellowships, shared facility use, short-term exchanges, and co-development of scientific methodologies, and provide remote access for Ukrainian researchers to participate in scientifically excellent projects across various fields. Additionally, proposals should identify and align investment opportunities using EU funding mechanisms to prioritize the development and reconstruction of Ukrainian research infrastructures.
Eligible participants include any legal entity, regardless of place of establishment, including entities from non-associated third countries or international organisations, provided that conditions set by the Horizon Europe Regulation and the specific call are met. Legal entities may be natural or legal persons recognized under national, EU, or international law with the capacity to exercise rights and obligations in their own name.
