The ROOTS project offers a 4P Matching Grant to support women, youth, and persons with disabilities in starting or expanding agribusiness activities.
The program focuses on providing business development and financial support to women, youth, and persons with disabilities interested in agribusiness, stimulating agribusiness growth by supporting farmer organizations with financial resources for post-harvest processing and value-addition activities, and encouraging value-chain integration by strengthening partnerships between public sector, private sector, and producer organizations to promote collaboration across the agricultural value chain.
The 4P Matching Grant is a dedicated financing window under the ROOTS project designed to support Farmer Organizations engaged in Public-Private Producer Partnership arrangements. The initiative supports business plans related to post-harvest processing and value-addition within the rice and vegetable value chains, helping organizations strengthen their operations and expand their agribusiness activities.
Through this grant window, eligible applicants can receive funding of up to USD 50,000 to implement their business plans. The funding is intended to help Farmer Organizations grow their operations and enhance their role within agricultural value chains by improving processing and value-addition activities.
The grant is open to Farmer Organizations and Commercial Farmer Organizations located in the project intervention areas that are interested in expanding their agribusinesses. Applicants must be Gambian and their requests must align with eligible expenditures under the 4P financing arrangement. Businesses or operational facilities must be located in one of the six agricultural regions, including the West Coast Region, Lower River Region, North Bank Region, Central River Region North and South, and Upper River Region. Applicants are required to present clear and detailed information in their applications and must be registered entities.
