Deadline Date: March 16, 2026
Applications are now open for the SDG Accelerator Freshwater x AI program to support ventures using advanced technologies to strengthen freshwater systems and improve climate resilience.
The program focuses on advancing solutions related to water access and equity, water quality monitoring and management, water sanitation and hygiene (WASH), climate-resilient water systems, freshwater infrastructure and innovation, and water governance, rights, and community-led systems.
The EY SDG Accelerator aims to support innovative ventures that apply artificial intelligence, machine learning, or advanced data tools to address challenges across freshwater systems. Through this initiative, EY seeks to scale solutions that can improve water access, strengthen infrastructure, enhance water quality management, and support communities facing freshwater risks. The program contributes to building climate resilience and improving the sustainability of freshwater resources.
Selected ventures will receive comprehensive support designed to help them grow their solutions and overcome operational barriers. Participants will benefit from one-on-one coaching from EY professionals, capacity-building workshops, investor readiness support, financial modeling guidance, and facilitated brainstorming sessions that help refine and scale their innovations. The program also offers opportunities to connect with a global network of investors, including introductions to impact funds, corporates, research institutions, and professionals working in the water-security sector.
Participants will also have the opportunity to showcase their solutions at a global conference and connect with stakeholders from across the water and innovation ecosystem. In addition, regular peer-to-peer sessions will help build a collaborative global community of ventures working on freshwater solutions.
The program is designed for mission-driven enterprises that deliver measurable social and environmental impact related to freshwater systems. Eligible ventures may be for-profit, nonprofit, hybrid, or cooperative organizations that use AI or advanced data tools to address freshwater challenges. Applicants must operate in water-stressed regions such as Africa, Latin America, South Asia, Southeast Asia, or other regions facing significant freshwater risks. The business must be legally incorporated, have been in active operation for at least one year, seek to expand both income and impact, and demonstrate proficiency in English as the program is conducted globally.
