Deadline Date: April 02, 2026
The International Organisation of the Francophonie (OIF) has launched its 2026 call for projects to support the writing and (co)production of French-language creative works across multiple artistic sectors.
The call aims to support creators and structures in the development and (co)production of Francophone artistic projects designed from the outset with an international reach in order to strengthen cultural diversity and improve the circulation and discoverability of Francophone creations. It also focuses on supporting the transition from development to production of projects in the book, film and live performance sectors, promoting (co)production and (co)publishing among Francophone cultural actors particularly in a balanced South-South and/or North-South cooperation, encouraging the emergence of new voices including women and young creators, and developing collaboration and circulation models that can be replicated or expanded.
Through this initiative, the OIF seeks to strengthen the global presence of French-language cultural productions by enabling authors, producers, and artists to collaborate across borders and bring their creative projects to life under professional production conditions. The program is designed to stimulate creativity while encouraging partnerships that allow Francophone works to reach new markets and audiences.
Projects submitted under the call must fall within one of three strategic sectors: book and publishing, live performance, or cinema-audiovisual production. By focusing on these sectors, the program aims to reinforce production capacities within Francophone cultural industries and promote interregional cooperation among creative professionals.
Eligible applicants must be legally registered entities based in one of the 90 member states and governments of the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie. Applicants must demonstrate at least three years of experience in the cultural sector and must be directly responsible for preparing and managing the proposed project. Each candidate is allowed to submit only one application.
The implementation period for supported projects must range from a minimum of six months to a maximum of twenty-four months, beginning from the date of signing the grant agreement. This timeframe is intended to ensure that projects have sufficient duration for development, production, and collaboration activities.
The total indicative budget allocated to this call for projects is 130,000 euros. Individual grants will range from 7,000 to 20,000 euros per project, depending on the quality and feasibility of the applications received. The administrative unit reserves the right to adjust the distribution of funds across sectors or not allocate the entire available budget if proposals do not meet the expected standards.
This funding opportunity reflects the OIF’s vision of the Francophonie as a collaborative creative space where shared language becomes a foundation for artistic partnership, cultural diversity, and international visibility for Francophone works.
