Deadline Date: March 20, 2026
The United Nations Development Programme is currently accepting applications for the Visa She’s Next Campaign to support women and youth-owned MSMEs in their growth, mentorship, and integration into high-value sectors.
The program focuses on mentorship, training, and market linkages to improve MSMEs’ ability to supply larger buyers and expand into new markets. Priority sectors include agriculture, agro-processing, tourism, manufacturing, and green industries, with particular emphasis on businesses capable of supplying the hospitality industry.
Eligible MSMEs must be legally registered and operating in Botswana, located in Gaborone or Francistown, demonstrate potential to scale and meet buyer requirements, articulate specific business challenges that can be addressed through the SDP methodology, and commit fully to mentorship and training activities. Preference is given to women-led or youth-led enterprises.
The initiative is part of Botswana’s broader strategy for private sector-led economic diversification under National Development Plan 12 and the Botswana Economic Transformation Programme, aiming to promote local value addition, reduce import dependence, and enhance competitiveness while positioning Botswana to benefit from regional and continental markets under SADC, SACU, and the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
The program duration is six months, offering selected MSMEs practical support to unlock growth opportunities, strengthen business operations, and expand market reach.
