The International Space Investment India Projects offers to support Australian organisations in delivering joint space projects with India to strengthen international collaboration and expand Australia’s space capabilities.
The program focuses on strengthening collaboration with Indian space organisations and supply chains, supporting defined project focus areas, building Australian space capability and technology readiness, advancing commercial outcomes, and enabling Australian space technologies and services to reach international markets.
The grant program is designed to promote cooperation between Australia and the Indian space sector, including collaboration with the Indian Space Research Organisation. Through this initiative, Australian organisations can work jointly with Indian partners to develop and advance space-related technologies and services.
A total funding amount of $2.69 million is available under this round, with the maximum grant amount also set at up to $2.69 million. The funding aims to support projects that contribute to capability building and the advancement of Australia’s space technology sector.
Eligible activities under the program include space-related research and development with a pathway to commercialisation, development of products and services, engineering and integration of equipment or software, and commissioning activities. The program also supports skills and capability development linked directly to project outcomes, as well as collaboration and partnership development.
Funding is not generally available for activities already supported through another Commonwealth grant, costs incurred before a grant agreement is executed, financing or debt-related costs, general operating expenses unrelated to the project, or land acquisition and unrelated infrastructure development.
Eligible applicants include Australian incorporated entities with an ABN and GST registration and publicly funded research organisations. Joint applications are permitted provided there is one eligible lead organisation. Individuals, partnerships, trusts without an incorporated trustee, government bodies, and organisations that do not meet workplace gender equality compliance requirements are not eligible.
