The Vienna Media Initiative is accepting applications to support existing media companies and associations in Vienna by providing funding for high-quality projects that strengthen and develop journalistic offerings.
The main focus areas of the funding program include supporting personnel and travel expenses, covering external services, funding material and investment costs, and promoting media projects that contribute to the further development of journalistic offerings in Vienna. Eligible participants are media companies and associations active in journalism, with a business location in Vienna, and without a negative balance in the City of Vienna treasury.
The program provides funding of up to 100,000 euros per project, with a minimum project size of 35,000 euros and a maximum duration of two years. Eligible costs include personnel costs, travel expenses, external services, tangible and intangible investment costs, and material costs that are directly attributable to the project.
Applicants are encouraged to schedule consultations with the Vienna Media Initiative to prepare their applications and ensure their project aligns with the program’s objectives of enhancing journalistic quality and media development in the city.
