Deadline Date: March 17, 2026
The Music Australia Export Development Fund provides matched funding to support Australian artists in expanding their reach and presence in international markets.
The program focuses on supporting emerging, breakthrough, and established acts, encouraging applications from Australian music artists, composers, and creators, individually or in groups, as well as organisations and music businesses on behalf of their artists, with priority for first-time recipients and encouragement for First Nations applicants.
The fund prioritises international promotional and content creation activities, including international PR and promotional campaigns, international radio campaigns, creating content such as music video clips, social media reels, and lyric translations targeted towards international audiences, and international digital marketing or social media strategies.
Eligible applicants can request a minimum of $2,000 and up to $10,000 in matched funding, which must be equal to or greater than the amount requested. The fund supports a wide range of costs directly related to these activities, including artist and creative worker fees, flights, accommodation, per diems, ground transport, travel insurance, visas, freight or baggage costs, childcare, carer and access costs, tickets or registration costs to attend events, and expenses associated with reducing the environmental impact of the activities.
Applications are not open to those who have already submitted to this category in the current round, have overdue grant reports, owe money to Creative Australia, or have applied to Arts Projects grant rounds for the same activity. Applicants who have previously received Export Development Fund support may reapply, although first-time recipients may be prioritised.
This fund represents a bold partnership between the Australian Government and the music industry, aiming to empower Australian music artists to expand their international audiences and develop their careers globally.
