Deadline Date: March 05, 2026
The Taiwan Contemporary Culture Lab is inviting proposals to design and develop an experimental theater that integrates art, technology, and society while providing the public with new and diverse cultural experiences.
The project focuses on avant-garde architectural experiments, innovative curatorial thinking in performance content, creating an air-conditioned and versatile environment, compliance with public safety regulations, and developing operational and creative plans for exhibitions, performances, and screenings over the next year.
C-LAB seeks professionals in architectural design, construction, theater, and art curation to form a creative proposal team to create a small to medium-sized experimental theater with a seating capacity of approximately 200–250 people. The theater should combine aesthetics with functional versatility, comply with structural, fire protection, accessibility, sound, and heat insulation standards, and connect with existing buildings to provide auxiliary spaces such as lobbies, toilets, and dressing rooms. The proposal should also include plans for exhibitions, performances, screenings, and related art projects for the upcoming year.
The total budget for planning, design, and production for the selected team is NT$50 million, which includes taxes and administrative fees, such as license applications required for the project.
Eligible proposal teams must be registered companies, partnerships, or sole proprietorships under Taiwanese law and include members with professional experience in architectural design, construction, theater, and art curation. The project is expected to be completed within three to five years, creating a space where innovative and experimental art can flourish.
