Deadline Date: February 22, 2026
The Accelerating Women in Agri-food for Resilience and Empowerment Programme is seeking grant applications to empower women‑led agri‑food enterprises in Uasin Gishu and Trans Nzoia counties.
The Aware Program is a nine-month business acceleration journey that combines tailored training, one-on-one coaching, market linkages, and climate-smart solutions, with grants of up to $5,000 for top enterprises to help fuel implementation and growth. The programme’s focus areas include supporting women‑owned or women‑led small agri‑food enterprises, requiring at least two years of continuous business operation, ensuring an annual turnover between KES 500,000 and KES 5 million, working within the horticulture, dairy, or cereals value chains, operating within Uasin Gishu or Trans Nzoia counties, promoting willingness to adopt climate‑smart and sustainable agricultural practices, requiring availability of financial records for the last two years, and recognising membership in a cooperative or producer group as an added advantage.
This 9‑month business acceleration initiative aims to strengthen the capacity and competitiveness of eligible women‑led agri‑food businesses by providing tailored support over an extended period. Women‑owned and women‑led enterprises that meet the eligibility criteria can participate in the programme, which is structured to enhance business skills, expand market opportunities, and foster sustainable practices within key agricultural sectors.
To be eligible, businesses must demonstrate consistent operation for at least two years, meet the specified turnover range, and be based in the target counties. Applicants must also make available their financial records for the past two years, and those who are members of cooperatives or producer groups may benefit from additional advantages in the application process.
