Applications are now open for the ROOTS Youth-Based Matching Grant, offering young entrepreneurs the chance to grow their businesses and secure their futures.
The grant focuses on agriculture transport services, mechanised agriculture services, food processing, agro-dealers shops, maintenance services for agricultural equipment, and ICT services and digital technologies for agriculture.
This opportunity targets youth aged 18 to 35 years who are Gambian nationals and operate individual or group businesses (up to five members) within the ROOTS regions of WCR, LRR, NBR, CRRN, CRRS, and URR. Female youth and persons with disabilities are especially encouraged to apply. Each successful applicant can receive a maximum grant of USD 7,500, with a total of 200 youth entrepreneurs set to benefit in 2026.
Applicants can submit their proposals online or visit any ROOTS regional office or partner location for assistance. This initiative is designed to empower young entrepreneurs to expand their ventures in agribusiness, add value to their products, and leverage technology for agricultural growth. By supporting youth-led enterprises, the project aims to foster innovation, increase productivity, and strengthen local economies across the country.
