Petty Traders Grant Support Programme: Empowering Small Businesses in Nigeria

Deadline Date: March 31, 2026

The Petty Traders Grant Support Programme is designed to provide financial assistance and support to aspiring and existing small-scale business owners.

The programme focuses on supporting individuals to start or grow a small business, specifically targets petty traders requiring little start-up capital, provides seed capital ranging from ₦10,000 to ₦100,000, ensures easy access with minimal documentation, is open to all Nigerians within the required age bracket residing in the country, and is available to applicants with or without CAC registration.

The programme aims to empower Nigerians between the ages of 18 and 55 who are either entrepreneurs or aspiring entrepreneurs. It provides seed capital to help individuals generate sustainable income, whether by starting a new business or strengthening an existing one. Applicants are not required to have a registered company, making it accessible to a wide range of small-scale traders.

To participate, interested individuals must own a business or have a business idea, possess a valid National Identification Number (NIN Slip), provide the details of a contact person, have a verifiable residential address, and hold a valid 10-digit bank account number. The application process is straightforward and requires minimal documentation, ensuring that support reaches those who need it most.

By providing seed capital of between ₦10,000 and ₦100,000, the programme encourages petty traders to develop sustainable income streams and expand their businesses over time. This initiative is particularly valuable for individuals who may not have access to formal funding channels, allowing them to pursue entrepreneurial opportunities without bureaucratic hurdles.
