Applications are now open for the Feasibility Study grant scheme to support businesses in assessing the viability and sustainability of their proposed business ideas.
The Feasibility Study grant scheme provides non-repayable grants to eligible enterprises to engage with a service provider to assess their business ideas, identify necessary resources, and determine the viability of their projects.
Aims
- With the aim to stimulate research, development, and innovation (R&D&I), the Feasibility Study grant scheme supports investment in these areas, in alignment with Malta’s Smart Specialisation Strategy (S3) 2021-2027.
Sectors
- Feasibility studies can be submitted for projects in the following sectors:
- Health and Well-being
- Sustainable Use of Resources for Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation
- Smart Manufacturing
- Marine and Maritime Technology
- Aviation and Aerospace
- Future Digital Technologies
Funding Information
- Maximum funding is €100,000 per undertaking.
- The aid intensity for applicants is defined as per below, where the percentage of eligible costs is determined by the size of the entity:
- Micro or Small enterprise: 70%
- Medium-sized enterprise: 60%
- Small mid-cap enterprise: 50%
- Aid under this scheme will be awarded in accordance with the General Block Exemption Regulation (‘GBER’).
Application Process
- The application process is structured in two stages:
- Stage 1: Submission of a concept note, where the initial idea and objectives are presented.
- Stage 2: Full application, including the feasibility study, following a successful concept note evaluation.
