Deadline Date: April 21, 2026
The European Commission is inviting grant applications to support research and innovation that advances people-centred integrated healthcare solutions through collaborative and cross-sectoral approaches.
The focus areas of the program include raising awareness among citizens and patients about their role in managing health, improving patient adherence to prevention programmes and medical interventions, enabling informed decision-making among patients and healthcare professionals, increasing cooperation between patients, citizens, and industrial stakeholders, improving diagnostics and monitoring tailored to patient needs, developing integrated healthcare solutions including digital tools, supporting inclusive and people-centred care, enabling successful implementation of digital healthcare solutions, and facilitating innovative approaches for improved home care of patients.
This funding opportunity supports pre-competitive research and innovation aimed at developing novel tools, methods, and technologies that improve the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and management of diseases while enabling more efficient recovery. Applicants are required to form collaborative public-private partnership consortia that reflect the integrative and cross-sectoral nature of healthcare systems and address the objective of demonstrating the feasibility of people-centred, integrated healthcare solutions.
Proposals must address unmet public health needs, considering factors such as disease burden, economic impact, or the transformative potential of innovation beyond specific disease areas. A strong emphasis is placed on people-centric approaches that focus on patient and citizen journeys through healthcare systems, supported by appropriate technologies and social innovations. Applicants must also demonstrate the ability to translate research into practical solutions that can be integrated into healthcare ecosystems or industrial processes, while taking into account the fragmented nature of healthcare systems.
In addition, proposals should include a landscape analysis to avoid duplication of existing efforts and identify opportunities for synergy and collaboration with ongoing initiatives. The program offers substantial funding, with a total budget of €110,000,000 and project funding ranges varying between €8,000,000 and €60,000,000 depending on the scope of activities.
Eligibility is open to any legal entity, including organizations from non-associated countries and international organizations, provided they meet the conditions set under the Horizon Europe framework and the specific requirements of the call.
