Deadline Date: February 19, 2026
The PFRDA Hackathon invites innovators, startups, developers, and problem-solvers from across India to reimagine the future of the country’s pension ecosystem.
The hackathon focuses on developing secure, scalable, and inclusive fintech solutions that address real-world challenges in digital payments, security, reliability, accessibility, support for MSMEs, multilingual users, and low-connectivity environments. The objective is to strengthen financial security, build trust, and enhance usability and adoption of digital financial services through innovation.
Participants are encouraged to tackle four primary problem statements. The first is creating a seamless digital onboarding experience and simplified KYC process for National Pension System (NPS) subscribers, aiming to reduce friction and improve user experience while ensuring regulatory compliance and data security. The second problem statement invites participants to design a gamified platform to increase awareness, engagement, and motivation among young workers regarding NPS contributions and long-term retirement planning, using game mechanics, rewards, and educational content. The third challenge is to build an interactive and predictive analytics tool that helps NPS subscribers estimate retirement corpus and pension outcomes under different contribution scenarios, supporting transparent, goal-based planning through intuitive dashboards and calculators. The fourth focuses on developing an AI-powered multilingual NPS assistant to provide personalized guidance, answer subscriber queries, and promote financial literacy across regional languages.
The hackathon offers cash prizes up to ₹10 lakh, mentorship from industry and academic experts, formal recognition, and opportunities for future collaboration within the NPS ecosystem. It is open to individuals and teams from India, including students, professionals, startups, and corporations with technical, design, or business expertise and an interest in pension, fintech, or digital public infrastructure.
This initiative is more than a competition; it is a platform for innovators to showcase their solutions, gain hands-on experience in PensionTech, and contribute to the digital transformation of India’s pension landscape.
