Deadline Date: April 17, 2026
Applications are now open for the Youth and Women Greenovations Programme to support women entrepreneurs in Africa working in green and climate-smart sectors.
The programme focuses on strengthening innovation, enhancing business readiness, promoting care-responsive solutions, and supporting women-led enterprises balancing unpaid care responsibilities such as childcare, eldercare, household work, and resource collection.
The initiative is being implemented by the Women’s Entrepreneurship Access Centre (WEAC) Zambia in collaboration with the United Nations University – Vice Rectorate in Europe (UNU-VIE) to identify opportunity-driven women-led businesses and support their participation in the Greenovations Hackathon Event and Piloting of Solutions Program. It is designed to help participants refine their ideas and build practical solutions that respond to both business challenges and care responsibilities.
Selected participants will benefit from seed funding to pilot their solutions, along with mentorship, coaching, and incubation support aimed at strengthening their business capacity. The programme also provides access to networks, partners, and visibility opportunities, enabling women entrepreneurs to expand their reach and impact within the green economy.
The call is open to women entrepreneurs based in Africa who are actively running businesses in the green or climate-smart sector and are experiencing unpaid care responsibilities. Applicants should be ready to develop and test innovative solutions and must be available to fully participate in the programme.
