The Venture For ClimateTech is requesting grant applications to support entrepreneurs by accelerating high-impact climate innovations that have strong potential for adoption within New York State.
The focus areas, of the program include accelerating high-impact climate innovations, supporting ClimateTech entrepreneurs with long paths to market and high capital intensity, validating market opportunities through customer discovery, enabling adoption within the New York State ecosystem, advancing solutions with significant carbon equivalent reduction potential, and promoting technologies that address or involve underserved communities.
The program supports startups by helping founders test their innovations against real market conditions through structured customer discovery, allowing them to validate demand and refine their value propositions. Entrepreneurs receive tools, mentor-driven education, coaching, and connections to help turn their ideas into viable ClimateTech businesses.
Participants can access up to $50,000 in non-dilutive funding to support business launch and early growth. Additional support includes preparation for inventory, distribution, quality assurance, logistics, and fulfillment to ensure the delivery of high-quality products. Startups also gain access to free or discounted services through partner organizations and opportunities to build strong teams through connections within the broader ecosystem.
Venture For ClimateTech also provides pathways to scale by offering manufacturing support through Scale For ClimateTech and introductions to additional programs as startups move from prototype development to production. Startups are evaluated based on climate impact potential, market opportunity and interest, founder and team readiness, stage appropriateness, alignment with the New York State ecosystem, and relevance to underserved communities.
