The Social Impact Award (SIA) represents the largest European program to support youth social entrepreneurship, which is launched in 2009 by Impact Hub Vienna, in partnership with the Erste Foundation and the University of Business and Economics in Vienna, and from 2022 this project in Montenegro implemented by the NGO Center for Youth Education.
The program provides you with all the necessary resources and support you need to turn your idea into a successful entrepreneurial venture. When you apply, the expert jury will decide on your idea based on three criteria: innovation, degree of social impact and feasibility.
The incubation phase is a comprehensive experience that will provide you with the support you need to build a successful entrepreneurial venture. While the most promising incubation ideas carry a prize – Social Impact Award, the acquired experience, skills and knowledge enable all finalists to help throughout the journey in social entrepreneurship.

- If your idea is selected, the following options will be available to you:
- Mentoring and support in validating business and impact models, prototyping ideas and creating the first collaborators;
- The opportunity for your team to win the Social Impact Award competition, which includes winning initial financial capital of EUR 1,500.00 and the opportunity to go to the international SIA Summit;
- Connection with their international alumni community, which counts more than 1,000 social entrepreneurs from more than 25 countries around the world.
Eligibility criteria
- Potential participants of the Social Impact Award (SIA) Montenegro competition in 2024 must meet the necessary conditions:
- All team members must be born between January 1, 1994 and December 31, 2009;
- At least one member of the team must have a residence in Montenegro;
- The idea with which the application is made did not receive funds or generate income before January 1, 2023;
- The idea applied for did not receive formal financial support from other donors, i.e. 3,000 euros (e.g. prize money, grants, investments) before the application submission date;
- Winners from previous years with the same idea, but with a different team composition, can apply;
- Winners from previous years in the same team composition, but with a different idea, can apply.
