Applicants are now invited to submit grant applications for IIM Calcutta Innovation Park to support innovative MSMEs and startups in West Bengal by providing structured pathways and resources to drive economic growth, foster innovation, generate employment, and contribute to the overall development of the state.
The focus areas and thematic priorities of the initiative include fostering innovation, enhancing startup scalability and financial sustainability, building a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem in West Bengal, equipping businesses with mentorship, strategic connections, and tools for competitive success, and enabling startups to achieve scalability and long-term sustainability.
This initiative is aimed at supporting innovative MSMEs and startups that are incorporated as private limited companies or LLPs under Section 2(68) of the Companies Act, 2013 and that have been in operation for no more than five years. Eligible enterprises should either be based in West Bengal or have an intention to establish operations in the state and must address a defined problem or gap through innovative approaches.
Participants in the programme will receive training from IIM Calcutta Innovation Park on various aspects of business model development. They will also benefit from guidance on fund raising and pitch deck preparation and one-on-one mentoring by experts from IIMCIP. There will be opportunities to pitch for funding to investors and gain increased visibility within the entrepreneurial ecosystem. Participants will also have priority access to West Bengal Government initiatives that promote startups and opportunities to pilot projects or conduct proofs of concept with various government departments.
The programme’s structured support is intended to act as a catalyst for building a vibrant start‑up ecosystem, helping enterprises scale and compete in local and global markets while contributing meaningfully to the state’s economic landscape.
