The Central Institute for Research on Cotton Technology is inviting applications for its KSHITIJ – ICAR-CIRCOT Startup Incubation Programme to promote innovation and entrepreneurship in agriculture and allied sectors.
The focus areas and objectives of KSHITIJ include farm mechanisation, post-harvest technology, precision agriculture, robotics, smart harvesting, post-harvest processing, storage, digital agricultural solutions, strengthening the agribusiness innovation ecosystem, providing structured incubation support, technical guidance, mentoring, assistance in testing and field-level validation of technology, development of practical, scalable, and commercially viable solutions, business modelling, market linkage, and IP advisory.
Under this programme, ICAR–Central Institute for Research on Cotton Technology (CIRCOT), Mumbai, through the Agri Business Incubation Centre (ABIC), acts as the hub institute for incubation, while five other ICAR institutes provide mentoring and regional outreach. The programme invites applications from innovators, entrepreneurs, and early-stage start-ups with a ready Proof of Concept, Prototype, or Minimum Viable Product.
Selected participants undergo a one-month intensive training and mentoring programme that includes technical support from ICAR scientists, academia, and industry experts. The programme aims to equip participants with the skills and guidance necessary to develop innovative solutions that are practical, scalable, and commercially viable for the agricultural and allied sectors.
