Electropreneur Park (EP) Bhubaneswar, an Electronics System Design Manufacturing (ESDM) Incubation Centre established by STPI with support from the Ministry of Electronics IT (MeitY), Government of India, and Government of Odisha, is launching its GENESIS Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EiR) Program Cohort 2 to identify, recognize, and support aspiring and early-stage tech entrepreneurs and innovators from Odisha through strategic networking, mentoring, seed funding, and access to state-of-the-art incubation facilities.
Focus areas of the program include Startups and Innovators working in Deep-Tech sectors such as Embedded system, Robotics, IoT, PCB design Manufacturing, Design of Low power Analog Digital circuits, Low power hardware design, Semiconductor design, ESDM solutions to solve challenges faced by Mining, Power transmission Distribution corporations and other industries using innovative technologies including IoT, AI/ML, Wireless sensor network, Wearables, ESDM solutions to manage, prevent pre- and post-disaster impacts using innovative technology applications, Smart city solutions for areas such as Traffic Management, Safety Surveillance, Energy conservation, Lighting, and ESDM solutions to facilitate Energy monitoring, Logging, Conservation and Domestic/Corporate automation using Embedded system, IoT, AI/ML, and sensor networks.
The GENESIS EiR Program aims to accelerate innovation and industry-oriented research in the ESDM domain while providing end-to-end support for product prototyping, development, and commercialization. EP-Bhubaneswar has nurtured over 120 startups, contributing to new product creation, intellectual property generation, and revenue growth. The program is open to Indian citizens aged 18 years or older, including full-time UG/PG students with entrepreneurial pursuits or founders/co-founders of DPIIT-registered startups (≤ 2 years old) from Tier II and III cities in Odisha. Applicants must be ready to be incubated physically at EP-Bhubaneswar and should not have received significant external funding exceeding ₹10 lakhs or prior support under any MeitY schemes.
The selection process involves pre-screening and evaluation by a Startup Selection Evaluation Committee, whose decision is final. Selected startups will receive financial assistance up to ₹10 lakhs in two tranches upon achievement of milestones, plug-and-play seating at the incubation centre, access to state-of-the-art ESDM labs with advanced testing and measuring equipment, opportunities for joint R&D with corporate houses and academia, dedicated mentoring support, and skill enhancement programs. Applicants must be committed to working full-time on their proposed startup ideas throughout the duration of the EiR program.
